Atomizers vs. Cartomizers - Pros & Cons
We now have a Joye 510 compatible cartomizer! For those of you who've been customers for a while, you know that at AmericaneLiquidStore.com, we only sell products we actually use, are very familiar with, and most importantly, like. We are dedicated to great products, and great service. We think cartomizers are a great improvement over atomizers. We'll list both Pros and Cons, so you can make an educated decision.
First, what's a cartomizer? Simply, it's one combined unit for both the cartridge and the atomizer. The big difference between a cartomizer and an atomizer is that an atomizer has the heating element on one end (the atomizer), and the eLiquid on the other end (the cartridge). So an atomizer relies on "wicking action", similar to an oil candle, to get the eLiquid to the heating element. A cartomizer is constructed entirely differently. The heating element goes down the center of the cartomizer, from one end to the other, and the filler/eLiquid is contained in a cylinder all the way around the heating element. The entire center of the cartomizer heats, and because the eliquid is all around, and close to the heating element, you don't have to "top off", it's able to use all the liquid. Our cartomizers are easily refillable, just pop the rubber top off with the end of a paper clip, and put about 25 - 30 drops of your favorite flavor eLiquid right in.
Cartomizer Pros:
Hold more eliquid. A cartomizer holds 25 - 30 drops of eLiquid in 1 refill. That's the equivalent of about 3 packs of traditional cigarettes. Faster and easier to fill. Here's a tip from experience... the center of the cartomizer is open from end to end, so if you fill it off the eCig, you have to be careful not to get any eLiquid down the center, or it will leak out the bottom. However, if you're using our products, so you have a manual battery, then you can fill your cartomizer while it's attached to the ecig without leaking. We've literally tested just dropping 30 drops right in a cartomizer all at once, waiting for it to soak in, and starting vaping. You can fill cartomizers FAST, and a refill lasts a LONG time. Are more efficient, vape better. As mentioned above, the heating element goes from end to end, and the eLiquid is all around the heating element, so the eLiquid is held close to the heating element all the time. This makes for better heating, more efficiency, and no need for frequent "top offs". Cost Less. We're selling cartomizers for 1/2 the cost of atomizers, with a 5 pack of cartomizers available for $15.99 at http://www.americaneliquidstore.com/products/Joye-510-Cartomizer-%252d-5-pack.html. Cartomizer Cons:
Not easy to change flavors, or drip. Unlike an atomizer, you can't pull out and replace the filler, so if you like to change flavors frequently, you'll need a few cartomizers, one for each of your favorite flavors. Also because you can't pull out the filler, you can't drip. However, because cartomizers are so inexpensive and hold so much eLiquid, having a few extra around isn't a major problem. Cartomizers are a fraction of an inch shorter than an atomizer/cartridge. With the eGo batteries, that is just a bit short to accomodate the tapered cone, and takes a little getting used to, but we think it's well worth the effort. Finally, we'd like to point out what we feel is the BEST thing about cartomizers... If you pair a cartomizer with an eGo battery, you have a solution where you can confidently carry just one ecig and filled cartridge, and BOTH the battery AND the cartridge will last all day, or several days. Even if you were a 2 or 3 pack-a-day smoker. It is truly convenient. One of our testers actually did call it "life-changing".
